Pinpointe Laser Treatment
The Pinpointe foot laser is the most effective laser for the treatment of onychomycosis. Cutting edge scientists and medical professionals working together for 20 years with funding provided by the NIH (National Institutes of Health) developed this trailblazing technology in the patented PinPointe FootLaser. It is a high powered ND:YAG pulse laser operating near 1064nm that effectively destroys fungus without harmful effects to the underlying skin.
The pinpointe foot laser is the first laser to be FDA cleared for the treatment of onychomycosis (toenail fungus). This FDA clearance was granted in October of 2010. Since that time there have been many other laser companies who have received FDA clearance, but their clearance was based on the clinical trials from the Pinpointe laser. According to a spokesperson from Pinpointe approximately 500,000 toes have been treated worldwide with no adverse side effects. Clinical trials for the pinpointe laser have reported an 88% effective rate with only one treatment, but our clinic we provide 2 treatments to further improve results. There are many lasers on the market today, but none of them have the amount of data and success that the Pinpointe laser has. At First Coast Foot & Ankle Clinic we are and will continue to be on the cutting edge of this technology.
